Our Mission

The mission of Labakcare is to improve the health of underserved communities by providing no cost preventive health care services. Most of the local health fairs take place in the Philadelphia, South Jersey, and Delaware areas. Our international activities take place in Nigeria and Haiti.

Educating While Serving

The efforts of Labakcare have increased the knowledge of screened participants in understanding their diagnosed health issues.  Participants are taught to recognize signs and symptoms of their health problems as well as what to look for if their conditions deteriorate.

Participants are also educated on the importance of diet modification, exercise, and medication compliance as a means to reduce the threat of a health crisis which often results in a costly ER visit.

Over 600 local and nearly 200 international volunteers have helped to make health fairs and international missions a success through the years. Collectively, LabakCare has helped thousands of patients.

The pressing issue in the 3rd world countries is high blood pressure. Almost all patients are screened for hypertension and diabetes. Each trip we gave prenatal care and prenatal vitamins to pregnant women. We also gave vitamins to the children.

Get Involved!

Even the littlest person can make the biggest difference in someone's life!

In December 2012, my life changed. I accompanied the LabakCare team on a medical mission to serve the people of Nigeria, only to find the experience mutually benefiting. As one of the many registered nurses on the team, caring for this population confirmed that an advanced practice degree is most likely in my future. Also as a believer whose faith motivate most, if not all of what I do, I gained a new passion to eventually serve elsewhere in the developing world full-time. I learned the invaluable lesson of how beautiful a life simplified from excessive material possessions can be.
